Hi!
I would tell you my name, but it is obviously stated in my blog title. :) I am a junior at USA and an elementary education major. Children truly are such a blessing. I have a strong desire to help shape our future by molding young minds! Helping children learn new things is so rewarding in so many different ways. I have a 12 year old brother and I love to help him out with school projects and his homework. It is such a wonderful feeling when he tells me his test grades and I know that I helped contribute to his success. I am from Saraland, AL, and I have lived here all of my life. I never really had the desire to go away for college. I love my family too much!
My fiance and I just built our first home and are planning a wedding for March 26, 2011. We have one son, Brayden Lance, who will be a year old on Friday, August 27. It really is bitter sweet! I cannot believe how fast time flies. It seems like just yesterday I was bringing him home from the hospital. He is definitely all boy! His birthday party is going to be Handy Manny (for those of you who don't know, he is a Disney character that "fixes" things). Dustin, my fiance, is an engineer and Brayden loves to wear his "da da's" hard hat, so I got him construction party hats for his party. I love the little guy a whole lot, can't you tell? :)
Working out is one of my many passions. Before I became pregnant with my son, I was in the gym at least twice a day. My fiance is a body builder and has competed in a few shows. I have not competed in any shows YET, but I would like to do the Heart of Dixie show next year in August. I have a long way to go, but I have some new found motivation after seeing some of the women at a competition that we went to recently. And no, I am not talking about having big arms and legs, just petite and fit.
I am very excited about EDM 310. Technology is so important in the schools today because everything that we do in today's world involves some sort of technology. I do have a full work load this semester, but time management is the key to success. I am looking forward to working with everyone and believe we will have a great semester. Good luck everyone!
